Motorola W230 and W270: New affordable handsets

Motorola has just announced their new line-up of affordable handsets at the 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show), these are the Motorola W230 and the Motorola W270. Mind you that both are low-end phones, if you're looking for something fancier, check out their Moto ROKR E8.

The Motorola W230 sports a candy bar design, much like Motorola's low end handset whose model I forgot, if you're the type who wants their cellphone to match their outfit, then you'd like that the Motorola W230 has interchangeable face plates. If clamshell phones are more to your liking, then the Motorola W270 is the phone for you. It doesn't have the sleek, smooth and thin lines of Motorola's RAZR line of phones, in fact the Motorola W270 reminds me of a more colorful version of the Motorola Mpx220.

Both the Motorola W230 and Motorola W270 doesn't support 3G connectivity, it only works on standard GSM networks, however, you might be surprised to find a built-in radio on both handsets, something which Motorola's higher end handsets also lacks. Both handsets also sports a microSD slot, a feature which other lower-end handsets doesn't support.

The Motorola W230 and Motorola W270 will be available around January-March, no specific launching date and pricing yet.
