Sony Ericsson EC400 Aircard

I've been scouring the net for a 3G aircard, however, most of the aircards that I've come across are either locked to a US network, only works with a PCI II card slot, or is ridiculously expensive. I really hope that the Sony Ericsson EC400 expresscard reaches the Philippines.

If you're familiar with PLDT Weroam, the Sony Ericsson EC400 Expresscard works like the Sierra Wireless Aircard that comes with the PLDT Weroam, however, the Sony Ericsson EC400 will fit the latest models of laptops. With the Sony Ericsson EC400, you can actually surf the internet anytime without need of a laptop, you just need a 3G simcard or and you're good to go.

The Sony Ericsson EC400 can work on HSPA/UMTS, Tri-band 850/1900/2100 MHz, EDGE/GPRS, Quad-Band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz networks which means it can probably work with any network worldwide. If you have a PLDT Weroam capable simcard or a Globe Visibility, you can use those simcards with the Sony Ericsson EC400 and surf the web at HSDPA speed or up to 7.2 Mb/s in download and 2.0 Mb/s in upload speeds.

Unfortunately, the Sony Ericsson EC400 will only be available globally by mid 2008 so it's a long wait. Let's just hope that it won't be ridiculously expensive.
