Globe to offer 5 Pesos per 15 minutes Internet Surfing

One of the things that has put me off from transferring to Globe is that Smart always one ups them in terms of promos. Globe used to offer their GPRS browsing for free but since they have put a cap on that and started charging per kilobyte, I transferred to Smart and never looked back.

Now, I've heard from another blogger, that Globe is offering P5 per 15 minutes of internet surfing for their postpaid and prepaid subscribers. You need to text TIME and send to 1111 in order to register for the service.

There's a catch though: You are charged P5 for every reconnection you made which means if your connection was suddenly lost after only 2 minutes of surfing, the next time to reconnect, it's another P5. Compared with Smart who charges for the whole 30 minutes from the time you connect no matter how many times you reconnect, Globe's Internet Data plan still sounds crappy. You should probably expect that your connection would be lost frequently as you know how Telecom companies do business in the Philippines.

Maybe I'll try out this service tomorrow--Maybe not.

Check it out again. Globe has now been offering 5 Pesos per 15 minutes regardless of multiple reconnections.

I've tried it!
