Pooh-Kwang Review

I have had the chance to watch the show: Pooh-Kwang the spooftacular comedy show and if you're thinking of watching it, I have to say: you're in for the laugh of your life.

The show started just after 8:30 p.m though the poster and tickets say 8 p.m. I thought that it was only a one hour show but it lasted until about 11:30 p.m. so you're getting your money's worth.

The show started with a dance off between Pokwang and Pooh which wasn't particularly funny but rather amusing. I thought, if this was what they were going to do for the rest of the show then there goes my P1,100 down the drain. Thankfully, it wasn't just a dance-off, they then said they were going to do an experimental act which involves the two of them acting out text jokes.

Again, this segment wasn't the "laugh till your sides ached" part but it's also amusing. There were some funny parts but it wasn't the jokes that made them funny but rather how the two of them were acting and goofing around that made the bit a little funnier.

Their solo stand up acts then followed and it gets funnier from here. I wasn't able to catch some of the punch lines since some idiot is guffawing so loudly behind me that it drowned out the performer's voice. I wanted to throw him off the balcony right there and then. Thankfully, some of his companions might have gagged him because he mellowed down the rest of the show and I was able to catch the funny one-liners. There were some jokes that they have already used if you happen to always catch their act on TV and they did a spoof segment called "wowwa wheel or no deal knb?" which was like a battle of the brainless segment.

This was the funniest portion of the show next to Pooh's second stand up act. Again, there were some jokes that were already used but they added some punch lines to it that still made the jokes funny even if you have heard it before.

I have to say, this was a really good show. If you're into comedy bars, I recommend that you watch the show, I guarantee that you'll get a year's worth of gags and jokes. The Pooh-Kwang Spooftacular Comedy Show is still showing in Music Museum every Friday's and Saturdays of June. Ticket prices range from P1,100, P1,650, and P2,000.
