Samsung Omnia

Great, just when I thought I really wanted the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the Samsung Omnia shows up. Though I now prefer a physical QWERTY keyboard rather than a touchscreen mobile phone, the specs on the Samsung Omnia REALLY makes me want to purchase one.

First off, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 only has around 520 MHz ARM processor while the Samsung Omnia has a 624 MHz Marvell processor, almost the same processing power as the one on the iPhone. Some people who purchased the HTC Touch Diamond is already experiencing some slight lag issues on the interface so I expect it may be the same for the Sony Ericsson X1 though I believe that Sony has better engineers than HTC.

The Samsung Omnia literally has everything: WiFi, GPS, 3G, Bluetooth A2DP, 5 mega pixel camera, and tons more. Plus the homescreen reminds me a lot of the Windows Vista sidebar that I love so much.

Tell you what, Samsung, throw in a slide out keyboard and I'm sold. Reports have it that the Samsung Omnia will be available in Southeast Asia around June or July, which means it's Singapore first though expect it to arrive REALLY soon in some Samsung stores.
