The Sony Ericsson MD400

Now this is the gadget that I've been waiting for, a USB modem. Yeah, sure Smart and Globe already have their own USB modems that they bundle with their SmartBro Prepaid or Globe Visibility prepaid plans but it's still different when a company like Sony Ericsson manufactures it.

Plus, what's great about the Sony Ericsson MD400 is that it's already HSPA compatible and also has an M2 Memory Stick Micro and MicroSD slot so it's perfect if you're going to combine it with your Ultra-low cost PCs such as Asus EEE PC or HP Mini Note that don't have mobile broadband capabilities and whose memory card slots are limited to reading only SD memory cards.

Also, the Sony Ericsson MD400g has built-in GPS capabilities!! Awesome! You could download a GPS software unto your laptop, maybe Garmin's GPS software and you now have your own GPS navigation system, though I don't know if Garmin has Philippine road maps.

Anyways, the Sony Ericsson MD400 will be available during the 4th quarter of 2008, so it will probably be available in the Philippines around early next year.
