Good news for plastic surgeons

Looks like it will be good years ahead for Cincinnati plastic surgeon. According to a recent ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) study, more than 55 million cosmetic surgery procedures will be performed in 2015. According to the study, this increasing trend is due to the following factors: increasing consumer awareness, direct to consumer marketing, and technological advances in non-surgical procedures.

I think that the increasing consumer awareness is largely due to the fact of more information available on the internet as well as TV programs such as nip-tuck and other mainstream primetime shows that show normal people undergoing cosmetic surgery. As more and more consumers are aware about plastic surgery, it’s easier for plastic surgeons to talk and market their services without offending the customers.

And I think the most important factor on why cosmetic surgery procedures will increase in the coming years is largely due to the fact that there are more and more non-surgical procedures being invented. One fear among people who’s considering plastic surgery is the procedure itself. No one really likes to be cut open and as more non-invasive and non-surgical procedures are invented, the more comfortable people are of undergoing cosmetic surgery.

This study is published in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal of the ASPS.
