I wonder what's the rate of car rental these days and if you rent a car does the rental company shoulder the gas or is it included in the price? My mom has been taking a taxi to and from work but she sometimes complain that getting a taxi is very difficult especially during rush hours. I saw an ad in a taxi about a transport service but I forgot to take note of the company name. They offer car transport from a specific pick up and drop off point. Someone told me that car rentals range from 3,000-5,000 pesos per day. That's a lot and I don't think it's a viable option especially if you have to shoulder the gas. It may be a good option for tourists but not for locals.
Also, I don't think car rental companies allow you to rent the car itself, they usually assign chauffeurs with their cars. I don't blame them. With news of cars being car napped everyday, it's good to take extra precautions. Too bad Advantage car rental doesn't have a local partner in the Philippines. They're currently offering 50% discount on Luxury and Convertible car rentals and boy, would I love to test drive a convertible. LOL.
