Personal Injury Suits

One of the things I’m torn about when it comes to the US judicial system is the way cases are handled. On one hand, the US judicial system dispenses justice speedily. You don’t have to wait 10-20 years for your case to be decided. On the other hand, it seems that ANYONE can sue ANYONE for the tiniest reason. I guess this is because they know that their cases can be decided easily whilst in the Philippines, if you try to sue someone because of some personal injury, your case would drag on for 10 years. I guess that’s why Filipinos are patient and personal injury suit are almost non-existent here.

In the US, everyone values their rights. Sure, for us, something like you slipping because someone spilled water on the sidewalk might not be something that we want to sue over but in the US, everyone values their right and if something like that happened, you can file a personal injury suit. After all, it’s the negligence of that person who spilled water that injured you. And even though you haven’t actually been injured, the fact that someone was negligent, you still have a case of personal injury. for example, is philadelphia personal injury lawyers specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury, and car accident cases. They work on a contingency fee basis, which means you don’t have to pay attorney’s fees if they cannot recover money for you. Another reason why personal injury suits are uncommon in the Philippines because compared with the US, attorneys here charge you for everything so the cost of suit is expensive.
