What the heck are INX files?

I have a received a bunch of email attachments from my friends who're trying to make a good website templates. One of them just made a screenshot of her work and sent it over as a jpeg file. Now almost everybody knows what are jpg files so it's easy enough for me to view and open. However, it was the other one that had me stumped. She sent over INX files. A quick look at file-extension.com says that the file extension INX is associated with Compiled Script. Well, I gave up trying to be a tech guru and asked my friend what she made the file with and she said she used Adobe's InDesign.

Well, since I don't have the expensive of a software lying around in my house, I just asked her to do what our friend did and just take a screenshot of her work for me to view. Case closed. I guess I'll be going with a new motto this upcoming new year: When in doubt, Google. If still in doubt, then just ASK.
