2009 Acura TL

There are lots of International car manufacturers already setting base in the Philippines. I mean first there was Ford, then Chrysler, then there’s Dodge. However, I have yet to see an Acura showroom. Acura is part of the Honda brand but while Honda is for the middle class, Acura is for the high end market.

Right now, what Acura has in line for 2009 is the 2009 Acura TL. The Acura TL is a sports sedan that features a powerful V6 engine and is available in an all-wheel drive, something which is unusual considering that Acura has been churning out front wheel drives every since.

What attracted me to the Acura TL is that it reminds me of the bigger version of the Honda Accord. The dashboard is also not so shabby looking. But what I really have my sights on is the technology package of the Acura TL. The technology package includes Milano leather seats, a powerful navigation system with real-time traffic (of course I doubt that real-time traffic would be available in the Philippines, there’s not actually a lot of GPS maps of Manila going around), a keyless access/starting, and a very powerful audio system featuring 440-watts ELS 10-speaker audio system, DVD audio and 12.7 GB hard disk drive.

Of course, I’m not all for looks and interior alone. Based on Acura TL Reviews, this machine also has a very sharp handling and steering (for the higher end model), however, it’s not the same for the base model since according to Edmunds.com, the steering on the base model has a “low-effort” response.

Safety features on the Acura TL includes antilock disc brakes and brake assist, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags, active front restraints and full-length side airbags.

It’s too bad that there are not a lot of Acura’s here. For those wanting high-end features but their budget isn’t fit for a BMW, the Acura TL is a good alternative.
