Epson Stylus DX4450

Thanks to fierce competition and advances in technology, a good quality and cheap all-in-one printer is not hard to come by these days. The Epson Stylus DX4450 is one of the cheaper all-in-one printers you can find in the market nowadays.

Like every all-in-one printer, the Epson Stylus DX4450 is bulky and large because of the A4 flatbed scanner on top. The buttons can be found on top near the scanner and allows you one-touch copying without having to connect your printer to the PC. The Epson Stylus DX4450 is very nicely built and made of strong plastic so it's pretty durable.

One of the things I love about Epson printers are their separate ink cartridges which allows you to replace only the cartridge that needs replacement. However, I don't know whether it's by some flaw or bug in the programming of this printer but the Epson Stylus DX4450 seems to drink a lot of ink compared with other Epson printers. This completely negates the “ink-saving” feature of separate cartridges since Epson ink cartridges can be quite expensive.

As for the print quality, the Epson DX4450 does a good enough job of printing black documents but struggles when printing photos. If you're going to do a lot of photo printing, I suggest that you just look at other dedicated Epson Photo Printers.

The Epson DX4450 is also quite noisy when printing but it also does a decent job of scanning photos. The one touch copying feature is also handy for those quick copies that you need to do but I hate that it doesn't have an LCD and card slots for quick photo printing.

Overall, if you just need an all-in-one printer for home use, the Epson DX4450 can be a good value for your money, of course, not considering the price of ink cartridges and how often you will replace one but there are a lot of replacement cartridges you can find on the net. But again, if its mostly a photo printer that you're looking for, it's better that you just take a look at other Photo Printer Reviews.
