Now isn't this nice? Probably the cheapest Android smartphone in the Philippine market, the Samsung Galaxy Spica will soon get an official Android 2.1 update. There's already a leaked 2.1 ROM floating around. The unofficial ROM still has a few bugs to fix but if the leak is any indication of what's to come for the Galaxy Spica, then I'm considering it an official statement that the Spica will get the 2.1 upgrade.
Now as for the Spica's UK counterpart, the Samsung Galaxy Portal, since it's currently a T-mobile exclusive, T-mobile users would have to wait until their carrier gives them an official update. Bummer for them.
